I hope you are all enjoying the start to spring! I write with a few important updates from our office:
First, after much deliberation, we have decided to retire the Volunteer Knox website. The system will remain open and can be utilized until August 2023.
But, Halle, how will we connect with volunteers?
The LIVE UNITED movement is about improving lives in our community. United Way of Knox County is committed to long-lasting, positive change, and we continue to fight for the health, education, and financial stability for our friends and neighbors. But we can’t do it alone. Volunteers are essential to successfully achieve positive social change in Knox County. Only by working together—united—can we reach our community goals.
We are very excited to announce two annual United Days of Caring. These events, hosted in the Fall and Spring, will facilitate introductions between organizations seeking volunteers and community members / service groups looking to help. This will also help connect service agencies with the vast number of resources available in our community.
Please save the date: The Fall 2023 United Day of Caring will be held September 14, 2023, from 1-5 pm.
If your Knox County organization could use the support of volunteer work between September 2023 and April 2024, we invite you to fill out the linked agency registration form: https://tinyurl.com/Sept-Volunteer. We will send additional information as we get closer to the event.
Volunteer opportunities and community resource information can be found throughout the year at www.uwayknox.org/resources. Please contact Walt Lewis, Knox County Resource Navigator, for more information or to advertise your volunteer needs. Walt can be reached directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please feel free to email any questions to email@example.com. We look forward to talking with you all soon!
