Free Imagination Library books will be mailed to:
1,270 children in April
CLICK HERE to download your child's registration form!
|
| In partnership with Dolly
Parton's Imagination Library Foundation, children in our
area can receive a FREE book delivered to their home every
month until they turn age five. Children
must live in Knox County in order to participate. Once
a child turns five, they will receive their final book
and graduate from the Imagination Library program. This
county-wide early learning effort is a strategy that prepares
children for school and promotes quality interactions between children and their parents and caregivers. Last year alone, 13,452 books were mailed to 1,765 children. Click here to see all of the sponsors who make this free program possible! |

2-1-1...Get Connected! |
What is 2-1-1? Like 9-1-1 it is an easy-to-remember number for people in need. A call to 2-1-1 connects people with needed services in the community as well as information about those services. 2-1-1 provides access to necessary agencies for those who are not sure how to find the help they need. It provides confidential 24/7 access to social services information while saving 9-1-1 for emergencies.

United Way Campaign Exceeds $725,000 Goal!
Mark Bennett, 2012 Campaign Chairman, made a special announcement at the February 19 meeting of United Way's Board of Trustees. He shared that $723,102 had been received in campaign pledges, representing 99.74% of the $725,000 goal. Since then, additional dollars have taken the campaign total to more than $732,000.
"Once again, Knox County residents, businesses and organizations have joined forces showing overwhelming support for United Way's work in Knox County," said Bennett. "We could not have accomplished such wonderful results without donors, corporate partners and very dedicated campaign volunteers....thank you!"
This campaign is providing investments in 26 programs of 15 partner agencies throughout 2013, as well as supporting initiatives that focus on education, income and health. The 2013 Community Investment Agenda is the work of more than 50 local volunteers who reviewed and recommended programs during the Spring 2012 Community Investment Process.
You can still pledge your support by clicking the GIVE button at the top of this page and joining many others in making a difference right here in Knox County! |
