A Knox County native with a degree from Wittenberg University, she actively contributes to various local boards and committees, emphasizing health, prevention, and family support initiatives.

United Way welcomed Dee Hoeflich as Office Manager in 2017. Dee comes to us from the American Red Cross of Knox County where she worked for 11 years in range of different positions. Dee brings vast office management skills and great customer service expertise to our organization.

Julie served as the Knox County Health Commissioner with Knox Public Health for 11 years. Upon her retirement in 2022, she became the Executive Director of the Winter Sanctuary Homeless Shelter. Julie joined the United Way team as an Administrative Assistant in 2024 and is leading the Knox County Housing Strategy Project.

Walt, a retired teacher with 33 years of experience, joined United Way of Knox County in 2022, enriching the team with his extensive community involvement and passion for Knox County. With a background in education and active local engagement, Walt is dedicated to improving resource accessibility for the community. He enjoys outdoor activities, home projects, and spending time with his family, including therapy dog visits with his Collies, Allie and Tanner.
